Default 2018 fat boy gas caps

Does anyone make both gas caps. The right hand side , and dummy left hand side. Fed up looking.

These took a little work (the left side that is) but worth it IMO. Flush Mount HD caps.

I agree, those flush mount look good. how much work did you have to do for the left side?

Well, it was a bit.

The original fake cap came off easily, just grab it and twist it off. The base will take most of the tape with it, a little 3m adhesive remover cleaned off the residue.

I bought a second gas cap and trim ring. I sawed off the cap (it’s aluminum) and used a bench grinder to leave about a half inch of the center post left. On that I pressed on 2 nylon washers to give a good surface for the 3M VHB tape to stick to. Used a little JB Weld between the washers and the cap. I also had a ampule of 3M primer/enhancer for the tape, figured it couldn’t hurt. Swabbed that on the recess and where the trim rings were applied.

Stuck it on, trim ring first, and done.

Cap PN is 63136-10A and the trim ring is 75022-08 - for my Fat Boy and most big tank Softails. I got the PN's from the install instructions for the gas gauge/cap on the HD parts site.

Where in CT are you?

I ended up with same result but different method. Bought a stock decorative cap. Took chrome dome off. Cut/filed/sanded/painted remaining plastic. Then just twisted on since stock mount stuff is still all there. Added flush trim ring as above and good to go.
Exactly same result as above

Sounds like it was a bit less expensive then me cutting the head off a $50 gas cap. Nice!

By the way, how do you like that windshield? I want something, I really prefer cafe fairings, but one for this bike will require a lot of modification to the headlight, which I'm not sure I want to do. What is that, the 19" one?
