Has anyone done a bigger tank on these bikes? I want to remove the small tank and get a standard tank on the bike.

 

In the process now. Waiting for the tank to get back from the painter. Have fuel pump and sender ready to go. Will post pics when done.

 

OK very cool. What tank model and year are you putting on the bike?

 

Tank is from 2018 Softail Slim. Painter removed the console mount, didn't get the left fill dent filled. Will post when I have the tank from the painter.

You you able to use the float ect internals from original tank in the new tank?

 

No. I purchased the fuel pump and sender for the 5 gal tank. The difference is fuel sender float, I have one that would fit which you could have. And an additional pickup which goes over the hump and into the right section of the tank. Using the original pump would leave some fuel in the right hand side.

 

Ok cool what did it cost or fuel pump and sender for 5 gal tank?

 

I believe it was 515. we got mixed up and ordered the sender unit separately, it comes with the pump so that will save the price of a beer
