I think they just want you to be a "happy" customer and are afraid the extra slack on the cables would bother you and ultimately become a complaint.
I put the stock Fatbob bars and riser on my 2018 Fatboy. All factory cables fit, clutch a tad long. I understand that is a different comparison but

heres a pic of a rough fit of the road warrior fairing.
Had to call Memphis shades and order the parts custom as they don’t have a kit for the 18 bob.

I will take some more pics over the weekend. The risers are Kraus isolated pullback risers. I originally wanted only 7 inches of rise so I bought the 5” risers and 2” extensions. After installing that wasn’t enough so I added another 1” extension. Knowing what I know now I should have bought the 8” risers strait from Kraus instead of this stupid riser extension setup but it actually came out pretty good. The bars are the forbidden motorcycles fly moto bars. I figure it’s a rise of about 6” over stock. I pulled the plug Cadi out and plugged everything in after pulling through new bars and risers and the all fit back in the cadi with the rubber grommit reinstalled. I will say that is max I would go without extensions. The clutch cable had a tiny bit of slack under the bike so I pulled a touch and it fits fine I’m thinking maybe get an inch or so longer cable eventually but it’s fine the way it is. The brake line just required a twist of the banjo and the elbow. You could prob add an inch to it but it’s just fine.

Were you able to take a few more pics of your bar/riser set up? I would like to see the clutch cable and brake line just to get a better Idea of how they are if you don't mind. Also without extensions, all the wires and cablels have enough slack when the bars are turned to either side not to stretch anything out too much? Thanks again for the info you have already given.
will do tomorrow for u. The wires have plenty of slack I will try to get some pics w the bars turned each direction.
