HELP 07 Night Train won't start

Hope someone can help me...
I installed a HD fuel gauge on my 07 Night Train (thought it was pretty much a no brainer) well... now the damn bike won't start. I followed the directions to the letter and the gauge works well, the start switch, speedo, directionals, hazards don't work though. I checked the wiring (no pinches or crimps) the fuses, etc... the engine run switch works and you can hear the fuel pump but the start switch doesn't.
Does anyone know what I might have done wrong (besides thinking I could install a simple gauge)?
Please help before I'm forced to trailer it to a HD dealer and pay through the nose.
Scott

Are all the plugs under the tank console seated properly? I would unplug and re-plug them all in to be sure they're are on correctly. If that doesn't work, I would thoroughly inspect your work using the wiring diagram from the service manual as a reference.

Also, do you have a security system? And if so, did you unhook the battery? I thought I read somewhere once that if you do that you have to reset the security system??? Not sure on that though.

Have checked the connectors and fuses under the seat. Are there fuses anywhere else? Also do have a security system and did disconnect the battery. Not sure how to reset it though.

I think Davej meant the connections under the console on the tank. U prolly took it off to put in your new guage.

Checked them... not sure if I screwed up the connector to the speedo since it isn't working (no lights, mileage, etc). Are there fuses somewhere else besides under the seat?

Have you taken all the plugs out...and then reinstalled?

It could be something not seated correctly. The fuel gauge is an easy install...either you popped a fuse or you have a connector not seated properly.

Your fuses should all be under the seat as far as I know.

Just take one step back and take a deep breath. When you get frustrated, you miss the obvious.Go over everything that you did. Check the ignition switch plug to because you have no turn signals or speedo. You don't have to reset the security system when you unhook the battery. It ran before, and you hear the fuel pump. I guarentee you it something stupid. good luck.

All,
Thanks for all your help! Got the bike back in running condition... problem was a combo of the alarm reset and one of the connectors needed a bit of a reseat... soooo happy I didn't have to go to the unreasonably expensive dealer only to be told it was something so simple!
Again, appreciate all the support! I will continue to visit the forum for useful tips from fellow HOG owners!
