Cool Growing on me . . .

Meh, when the new Softail frame came out last year I didn't hate it. But I didn't love it either. After seeing this video I'm warming up. I haven't been on in a while, what say you? Love it? Hate it? Meh? I've yet to take the new one out for a test ride. Thanks for the opinions.

You would think that a Harley shop would know that the star tank emblems were not from 70's AMF years. Not too much nostalgic about those years except the cafe racer and 76 superglide.

I rode several, fat bob and fat boy. They rode better than my 2012 street glide.

Yeah I wondered about that as well. Not bad looking though.

AGREED !!
That Café Racer . . . The 72' and up Super Glide (NOT the 71 !!)

But the most iconic Harley of the 70's was the Low Rider in 77
(The one they still (try to) mimic today)

Those "Star" Emblems were mid-60's weren't they ?

The AMF years started the trends of stripped down baggers, the Super Glide, when sportsters were King and the bigger bikes were considered for old men.. Then came the Lowrider FXS model....... The first (of many) real factory customized bike.....

That's quite a legacy.......

Yeah, yeah, yeah ...everybody remembers that AMF, through some very bad management/production decisions almost killed HD.... but some of the AMF bikes were pretty nice!

I bought a new '78 FXS in April of 1978, and put about 35K on it in two years. It got stolen and I replaced it with an '80 FXS that I put 110K on in 9 years.....Loved both those bikes and they were virtually trouble free....

I'm very nostalgic about those years...!!!! If I could find a good, OEM '78 or '80 FXS for a reasonable price, I'd have 4 HDs in my garage...!!!!

I'm the wrong breed of brown to ride that. I get the impression Hispanics are the up and coming demographic for Harley sales, at least in Laidlaw's world.

I like the M8 Softails. They have a few ergonomic challenges, but those can be overcome. Did a couple of reviews on them-

Dwayne, in our Customer Service, has had a Deluxe for awhile now. He really likes it, and I've enjoyed riding it.

We went out for a ride and shot some video...he on his 2018 M8 Softy and me on my 2012. I don't see myself parting with my 2012 anytime soon (or ever), but if I did not already have it, I would probably start fresh with an M8 Softail.

My Stage I Twin Cam Softail cannot even think about accelerating as quickly as his M8 Stage I Softail...nor out-handling it.

Thanks for the nice videos Kevin. I’ve decided not to take one out for a test ride to avoid getting an itchy finger and such. I love my 2007, I love my 2007 lol ...

I hear you!

If I did not have my Softail modded to match my long time dream...it would probably be gone by now.

But I do not see this bike going anywhere....
