Default Turn signals not working when engine off?

Hi guys!! I removed the passing lights on my 2003 fatboy today. I just cut the wire to the lights and covered the connection with shrink tube.

My question is, after turning the ignition switch to acc the turn signals will not work? Is this normal? Does the bike have to be running for the turn signals to function? What could I possibly have done wrong? Thxs

On my bike the turn signals do not work when switched to accessory. They only work when the ignition is on..

Thank you! Do you mean they work only while the engine is running?

You may want to check if the hazard lights work with the ignition off, it should do. Not the indicators.left or right by it self.

Well, yes. They work when the ignition is on and the engine is NOT running and they work when the ignition is on and the engine IS running. Whether or not the engine is running is irrelevant. It's when the ignition is turned on.

Cool thxs.. then I have a problem with mine. The left turn signal stays on while the right one is off, this is when Im in ignition. Blinkers work well. Would it have some thing to do with the running lights module? Or just a burnt light bulb?

Thxs!!

Ended up being a bad bulb in the right turn signal. Funny when the alarm was activated all the lights including this one were flashing? I figured the bulb was fine.
Thanks for your help guys!!

That's because the alarm uses the turn signal filament in the bulb as opposed to the run filament.
You do realise there are 2 filaments in a1157 run/turn bulb right?
Never mind, obviously not.
