Default Lost one of my saddlebags - where to buy?

On the way home from work this afternoon, as I was about to take the interstate off ramp, my left saddlebag detached and was torn up by the cars going over it.

Part number 88238-07

So far the best price I can find is here: https://shop.newcastlehd.com/part/88238-07

$707

Anyone know where else I can try for a better price?

Holy crap! $707? I would consider aftermarket. Would leave you enough for a new front fender (just kidding) and take your OL out for a nice dinner every weekend for a month.

They're really pricey, I think I paid close to $800, plus the mounting kit and the turn signal extenders, ........ but the quick detach and good quality has me looking at getting another pair of the same.

I looked at after-market, and see a few that look good, but none that are quick detachable.
EDIT: The good name after-market are more costly #40 Plain $1175

LOL, I eventually found a fender on eBay that would work with the Breakout front wheel.

Sorry to hear about your loss... Can you give a little more info on how it fell off... Was it on the HD quick detached kit or did the bolts back out... Thanks

You could try your local Craigslist and even the FleaBay. If you're going to drop that kind of money on bags, I would go Leather Pros, they have the very best mounting system on the market, I had them on my Dyna, never shook loose, fallen off or anything. Look at the Dyna section, tons of guys there running their Retro Bags with no problems. I've read and heard stories of the Harley kits coming loose and loosing bags. I plan on going Leather Pros for my Heritage over the next year or so. Well worth the look.

It probably was a quick detach. Bags falling off does not seem to be uncommon. I was riding with a friend cross country and his bag came off while running about 70. There wasn't much left of it when we picked it up. He later became known as kne bagger because he wouldn't spring for the cost of a new one..

The $800 is a bit of a shocker though. I put a full set of bags on my wife's low rider for that amount.

I don't have the bags attached most of the time, only use them when I need to carry more than my rear luggage bag can hold, so attached them in the morning getting ready for the ride to work.

I had stuffed my work clothes into each of the bags quite tightly (they get laundered by Cintas) and I suspect that pulling the clothes out on arrival at work I inadvertently pulled the lock.

The bag fell off near the end of my 48 mile commute home, which is odd how it hung on so long with it un-locked.

I either didn't engage the lock fully, or I disengaged it when pulling out the tightly packed clothes.

I have Boss Bags Springer 37 on my Fatboy and they are great bags. The mounting system is great solid but can be removed in less than a minute without tools. They are a lot larger than the HD Bags.
Id look into buying a new set of Boss bags and then put the one you have left up on EBay to recover some of the $. Ill bet there is or will be someone out there that also needs 1 bag
