Heritage conversion...

I recently bought a 2006 Heritage, and im wondering if i can get hard bags and a seat that came off of a 2014 Street Glide to fit? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. as i am relatively new to the motorcycle world.... TIA

As for the hard bags; they will fit but you'll need mounting brackets.
Cycle Vision is the best but there are some cheap brackets on Amazon and e-bay that some say are OK.
I've got the Cycle Visions and they are very solid.

As for the seat; the quick answer is "no" but for the right amount of money you can likely make anything work.

With a bagger kit brackets you can get the hard bags to fit.
You will have to replace the C bracket that attached the hard bag to the frame work (with one with a hole in it VS a post).
The heritage (if I am not mistaken) requires blinker relocation.
The HD hard bags are better quality than the kit offers, I am not sure if you can just purchase the bars and hardware (minus the hard bags) or not.
As for the seat I am not sure.
I went to Rushmore hard bags recently (vs the hard bags in the kit).

The bags will fit using a mounting Kit like these

The seat wont fit without a lot of modifying, unless you are an upholster its not worh it , plenty of excellent aftermarket seats check ccseats.com

What are you trying to accomplish for the seat? I had a 14 Street Gide and the stock seat leaves a lot to be desired. There are a ton of seat options out there. Mustang makes a very good seat. Ultimate Seats are great but more money. There's also another great option - Mean City Cycles will modify your stock seat and make it very comfortable.

As far as hard bags, if you're stuck on HD bags, you're looking at a good deal of money. There are alternatives out there for far less money as others above have mentioned.

Enjoy the Heritage! I switched back to a Heritage almost 2 years ago and haven't looked back. I love the bike!

On the HD hard bags.
I bought the kit (came with hard bags) and used them till I found the right buy on Harley bags.
I bought the lowers from a local guy that went to stretched bags & the lids from a guy that added speaker lids.
Paid less than buying aftermarket bags, but it took me a little time (patients).
Then I sold the bags that came with the kit (re-cooped over 1/2 of money I spent on the HD bags).
The bags that came with the kit worked fine, but the Rushmore bags were worth the effort & money to me.

Still doing the same thing with the search continuing.
I'm finding though that some look at the HD site and then ask 10% less for the used ones than a new set.

The Amazon bags are fine for now but as soon as I come across a deal on a set of OEMs in good shape at a good price I'll swap them out.

I found my lids on this site and the lowers on CL.
Just kept looking, took over a year to find them (for the right price).
I paid way under 10% less, but I was patient.
I also had to have a friend shoot the lids (they were mat black).

I used the Cycle Visions kit on my Fat Boy. https://www.cyclevisions.com/product...l-for-softails I haven't seen any of the kits from E-Bay, but I was very happy with the Cycle Visions stuff. I know there is a bracket in the Cycle Visions kit that ties the 2 sides together that I don't see in the E-Bay kits. I bought their filler panels for mine too https://www.cyclevisions.com/collect...rd-bags-cv7220

I got a clean set of HD bags off a 2012 Ultra Classic from a guy for $100.00. He had them from some project and ended up with a Tri-Glide and didn't need them. If you are patient and have a little luck you can find good bags cheap.

OP, you will need to make sure what ever exhaust system you have runs below the axle to use the hard bag kits. On a Heritage you are probably OK unless someone has changed them. All in all it is a pretty easy conversion though.
