I thought a few times about routing my cross tube over the frame now that I have the clearance, but just haven't gotten back to it. Make sure your handlebars dont hit the tank. Mine are now about a quarter in clearance. 2" would have made mine hit at full turn.
I just moved the engine guard forward 1.5" as my feet were hitting it. Next is to make a longer shifting arm and a custom set of stainless more narrow cut floorboards. Eventually?

Made a 1.5" spacer for the top as well as the bottom. The top spacer can be seen in the pic above. I was constantly hitting my feet on the gaurd. I love the look of brushed stainless steel and plan on making as many parts as I can that I think will look good.
[QUOTE=golfblues;18332650]1.5" up front. .5" for the rear. No problem with the stock crossover hose. 09 Heritage. I used 1/8 inch gasket material to fill the tunnel in front of the tank. I cut it in a u and it blends in with the existing rubber boot
would you happen to have a picture of how you filled in tank tunnel?

This picture is from my cell phone. I tried to zoom in on it. When I get home tonight I'll seeif I have anything better on my computer. I sold that bike in 19. All I did is get a piece of 1/8 inch rubber gasket material from the auto parts store. Probably 12x12 overall. I just cut out a piece & put some 3M double stick on the back. Set it in place to cover the hole. It was there for a good 4-5 years until I sold it.
Here's a picture of the gasket material
