Default 2009 night train rear brake pad change?

Just bought a 2009 night train and the rear brake pads are worn too ****. First time changing brake pads on any motorcycle. Some people say the rear tire need too be removed and some say it doesn't. If any one can help me out a little that'll be great. Stock rear wheel also. Thanks

If you only had a Service Manual at your disposal, you'd know what to do.

Mine's an 06 and you definitely don't need to remove the wheel to change brake pads. I did mine last weekend, it's a 10 minute job. Only reason to pull the wheel is if the rotor needs changing if it's been damaged or worn beyond specs. As mentioned get the manual, it will be the most useful tool in your garage! Good luck.
