How many Trains built in 2007? In 2003 less than 1 %.
 

I have a letter from HD that 2,430 Night Trains were built in 2003,out of a total of 345,184 motorcycles being built. 736 gunmetal pearls were built.

That's 7 tenths (.007) of one percent of the total built were NT's.
Any one know the figures for the 2007 Night Train??

seems like there are a helluva lot more night trains than that

Nope, from Lisa Segan of HD customer service, dated 01/28/2004.
1,694 Black NT's built and 736 Gunmetal Pearls built.

Judging from the "Going to pick up my Train today!!!" type threads here I'd say that percentage is a lot higher for 07. In fact, I'd expect to see higher percentages for 04-06 years as well. With the demise of the Standard in 08 I'd expect it to go even higher.

I think maybe Willie G had a bet with the marketing guys or something. They said the blacked out bikes wouldn't sell and he said they would. To hedge his bet he started offering Trains in a rainbow of colors and also started to reduce the alternate models to choose from.

And the result is the growing family of Train lovers (that doesn't sound right, does it?) benefits by always having one available for purchase at a dealer near you!

Well with the number of models I would agree that the Night Trains were low on the Soft Tail line.

But today the "Night" look is offered in most lines.


2007 might have more Night Trains, but I dont see that large of a %

Sportsterhas 9 types
Dyna5 types
Soft tails 8 types
VRSC 5 types
Tour 8 types

So with 35 types I could see the Night train being 1% when the Sportster and Touring seem to sell Best, and the Dyna and Soft tails seem to be chromed on the street when I see them.

Where can you find build info at? I always wondered what the break down was for number of each model built for different years.

You should be able to get it off of the company's annual report. Not sure where to get one, web site perhaps...

In 2003 I show only 291,147 H-D's being built. Even counting BuellI dont get 345,184.

Now for 2006 I get 349,196 H-D's being built.
