Are the plugs wet? Is it just turning over or running some? Back firing?

Compression, crank, spark, might be fuel

After timing??

Glad you go it fixed.....

But I learn from posts like these, and I can't figure out what you mean by "ignition tip".......

Could post a pic or give a more detailed explanation of what the "ignition tip" was that you "screwed back in"....?

I'd like to file these symptoms & fix in my memory banks for future reference....

my mistake my hearing apparently isn't the best I was listening on the phone to what my mechanic told me apparently it was ignition clip where the ignition plugs into the wiring under the tank cover a new ignition was put in and it wasn't clipped all the way in so it comes loose was still getting lights and power but not enough contact to start it

Follow up

To all who read my post I'm sorry about misquoting and saying ignition tip I could have swore that's what my mechanic told me on the phone but I heard ignition tip he said ignition clip and I was so happy it here in the good news the bike was fixed apparently my mind's mixed up things so it was where the ignition clips into the harness under the tank cover and it had vibrated loose cuz it didn't clip completely in and I had lights and everything and it would turn over but it wouldn't start once he got it pushed completely back in it started up again sorry for the misunderstanding I'm new to all this so I hope that clarifies

No need to apologize...

Most things have many names depending on where you live.....

It could be a commonly used term, and just that I am unfamiliar with it...

In any case, I now totally understand and appreciate the clarification...

Ride safe...!

Good deal on the fix. It's nice when it's the simple things that get stuff back and going.
