Oil change
Does anyone here stand their bike up to drain a little more from the tank when doing a change? Seems like a good thing to do. Manual just have you do it while on the jiffy.

My understanding is to drain engine oil on side stand. Straight up for transmission & primary oil.

Probably depends on the bike
The drain on a touring model is on the left side of the pan It`s at it lowest point when ON the jiffy stand YMMV |
I have the tank that sits under the battery box, the drain line is on the right while the bike leans left, so is there much oil left in when drained?

A little I'm anal enough that I do. I even even pulled the plug that causes baby kittens to die (the 1/4" or 3/8" (?) pipe thread plug in bottom of crank case) Decided that wasn't worth the effort for an ounce or two tops But leaning the bike "up" isn't a struggle or big deal for a little more dribble I will say though, I'm sure no kittens will die if I don't tip up ..L.T.A. |
No. People that do this kind of thing are just pissing in the wind.

That was an interesting video.
It looks like there was still a quart of old dirty oil left in the system after it was drained. . |
