Fatboy-widest tire on stock set up?
On the 2004 Fatboy, what is the widest tire and rim that can be put on without fender mods? Will a 180 or 200 fit?

A Metzeler 160 is as wide as you can go. Its about 1/8" wider than your stock Dunlop 150

Heartland Biker claims to have a 180 that doesn't require any mods to the bike. I can't vouch for them but it's what they claim. Good luck.

Using the Heartland Kit you will have to cut off the fender mounts/horns from the frame. The stock mounts are to close together for a 180mm tire on a "standard" softail frame. Check out the "FAT TIRE THREAD"

I get the impression, given the tight tolerances in the stock fender, swingarm, pulley, brake and wheel that the Metzler 160 is pretty much it.. without any mods.

I know, I know, that's certainly what the pics show but they claim otherwise. Here's an ad for their 200 kit from the November issue of AIM.
Guess somebody needs to call and make a direct inquiry...

Heartland web site has 180mm for 2000 and up STail with their fender, seat, struts and wheel. 200mm would have to include swing arm.
