Springer Ride Quality

What is the Ride Like? I can't find any info really describing what is different versus a standard fork. I'm on a Honda Aero(750) and am gonna upgrade to a real motorcycle in "06 hopefully. I love the look of the springer but want to be sure I'm gonna get a sweet freeway ride as this is gonna be my iron butt bike. Thanks for any help.

I love mine and don't have any problem with the way it rides.

I love the ride of the springer. I can't really tell too much difference in terms of ride, to be honest. I tell the difference mostly when stopping, but even then I can't tell much.

If you like the looks of the bike, then go for it. Springer riders are a breed apart. We tend to like the traditional looks of the older bikes. We also appreciate the technical aspects of how the springer works. But the looks are simple and simply great.

Stop by a dealership and ask to take a test ride. I think you'll be very happily surprised!

I enjoyed the ride difference of the Wide Glide I had been riding (dads) and my FXSTSI. The heavier front end seemed to make it extremely more stable in the corners and feeling like a rock, I love it. I was also a little worried until I got to ride mine, wouldnt trade it for any other HD model.

Howdy, I have an 05 Springer and I really like the looks of it. I've only had one Harley and this is it. I can't compare the ride quality, but I like how it handles and I also like the old styling of the springer front end. Each to his or her own, but I sure like mine.

Mine is somewhat stiff riding, but it's a 16 year old model. But to me the Springer is a better handling bike than the Softail custom. Also note that the Springer front end does require more maintenance than telescoping forks.

I have a '96 Badboy. I sold my '03 dyna to get it. The ride is very close to the same on both bikes. The difference is in braking. On the springer the front end dives a lot more then standard forks. Just my $.02.

I have an 06 FXSTS. I heard people talking about the Springer front end being stiffer, but I love the looks of it, so I bought it anyway. I had an 05 Night Train that I sold before I got the Springer and to be honest, I can't tell any diference in "stiffness" between the two bikes. I liked the Night Train- no complaints, but the Springer just has a classy look that I love. As far as the maintenance goes, I haven't put on enough miles yet to see, but I hear they require more.
