Default Customizing My '05 Deluxe, UPDATED photos 03/09/08

Over the past year, I've received some great Birthday/Christmas presents to start the customizing itch.
Here is what the bike looked like when I bought it late last fall.

Over the winter, the stainless cables were installed, the chrome levers, brake reservoir, dash panel, oil cooler, oil temperature gauge, frame inserts, security system, etc. Over the summer of '07, I added 14" Wild One Chubby Apes, with a 2" riser.

Just this week, my paint arrived back. What more could you ask for your 39th birthday!! I chose this color/design scheme from a bike I saw in a magazine which was done up by FBI but with brandywine color.I've loved this HOK tangelo color for a long time and chose that for the top of my tins. To complement the new paint, I got a set of the HD flush mount gas gauges. They look really sharp. I also received a set of chrome lower forks (not installed yet)as well to add to the chrome scheme of things in addition to a stainless splash guard in front of the rear wheel.

My husband machinedmy new wheels from forged billet aluminumblanksfor me for my Christmas gift. 21" front, 120/70-21and 18" back, 150/70-18. The design I chose follows the tribal theme. After I described what I wanted, he drewthe drawing in CAD and machined out the blanks. He still needs to machine thepulley androtor for the rear, so more complete photos will be posted. Metzler ME880's wrap up the look on those beauties.

A friend and I swapped engine guards as she prefered the nostalgic one and I liked her engine guard which was then powder coated gloss black to match my frame.

Still to come are a custom designed and machined derby cover, brake pedal, andfloor boards. Not certain what air cleaner I want. I like the SE Heavy Breatherunit, but while riding my husband's deluxe(CNC Wheel Guy), I realized my knee hits it. So if anyone has any suggestions??? Also pondering the thought of changing my directionallenses to smoke rather than the orange fronts/red rears and putting the license plate on the left side of the bike (side mount). I think I may go with the Badlander seat to ride this "new" bike and thinking of a more chromed set of grips and perhaps tribal style mirrors.

Love to hear and comments and or suggestions you may have.
Thanks, Maria

I have to say that this bike looks even better in person. You should all see the Sheet-eating grin that Chrome Lady is wearing now.

BTW-I think it's time for a new sig pick.

Yah, realized the signature change is in order once the post went up.
I'll wait until it's complete for a better photo of the bike, maybe with a sheeet eating grin plastered to my face....

Thanks to you, chrome killer (BB06FLHX) and seeing your bike and other masterpieces at the World of Wheels, I've got the customizing itch....

Thanks to your wife for swapping engine guards!! Can't wait to see her thread onceher bike is transformed from being my identical twin (she has/had the same color '05 deluxe as mine)!

: ) spoiled brat

Oh my God !!!!!!

What a difference. I love it.
The paint, the Wheels, the Handle Bars are all awesome.

All I see left is Axel Bolt Covers and new Floor Boards,
and I likethe headlight and turn signal visor style trim rings too.

When you find an AC cover you like let me know, I'm still looking for a good one, that isn't a Skull.

The Badlander seat will make it even meaner looking too.

How did I let her Deluxe get 1000 times better than mine? Why didn't you stop me????

Now, I got to figure out a way to make mine nicer!

In all seriousness, some folks may think that the Deluxe should stay nostalgic, and I can respect that. However, Chrome Lady loved the way the bike handled and wanted a bike that was a bike more modern looking for her tastes. So it turned out to be what it is here.

That is what is great about these bikes, you can make them anything you want and they are all nice in their own way.
