Whats up with that.

That explains a lot about dealership service. Does'nt it.

At least my 98 Manual has it right.
But a lot of dealers won't work on blockheads anymore.

Thats the wayHD does it......anyone who has ever installed any HD parts or accessoriesusing the associated instructions/drawings has seen this before.
It all comes down to making it difficult or seemingly impossiblein the hopes that the consumer will be vexed into bringing into the shop and paying for the istallation service. I used to think they just had poor technical writers.

No its not a conspiracy or an attemt to get the end user to use the dealers service.
Its just a case of gross incompetence on the part of the editor.
Odds are most of the manuals are written at lest in part bypeople whohaven't the faintest idea ofwhich end of a bike is the front. Let alone much else.
And whoever edits or proof reads them isn't a hell of a lot better informed.

That is messed up! Everyone knows the fuel gauge is under the rear fender....shhessssh!

My gas gage doesn't work anyway (oil filter is in the way! LOL)
