Fatboy advice....

Looking for some suggestions on my 08 Fatboy. I have done several things to it and have several more upgrades coming in the next couple of weeks. I would really like some suggestions on new bars, seat, mirrors and whether or not to put on a chrome swing-arm and calipers. I have been leaning toward leaving the swing-arm like it is what do you think? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will take the sissy bar off and put either a solo or sleek 2 up seat. Should I lower the bike? I know most of this stuff is personal taste but just curious if I am missing something that could help set it apart a little.

List of new parts I am having installed next week:

08 chromed fatboy wheels.
polished rotors.
chrome lower belt guard.
chrome foot-board brackets.
chrome trans interface cover.
chrome rocker cover.
chrome primary cover.
chrome fuel connector cover.
flush fuel caps and led cover.
Chrome front end package.

aren't the rocker covers and primary cover already chrome?

lifter block cover kit not rocker..sorry about that..
the inner primary cover is what I meant.

sorry for confusion...any ideas...what do you think about leaving caliper and swing-arm stock?

I'm not much help, I'm actually looking into getting the chrome swingarm too. I'd do the fender extension (I think that's what it's called) if your going with the chrome swingarm. It replaces the plastic inner fender ( for lack of a better word) with a stainless steel one. It's on the harley site. As far as the calipers, I dunno, kinda in the same boat as you.

The inner fender is a good idea I will search it out in the catalog. I have an 08 swing-arm and a set of 08 calipers I bought from a guy that were replaced with new hd chrome ones. Chromemaster wants nearly 400.00 to do the swingarm and the hd one is around 500.00. I will probalby just put a new chrome one on. I have thought about a 250 kit for the rear but they are very high.

To set it apart............leave it as is, then you won't look like all the rest

Done some of those items you mentioned. The biggest bang was the wheels and the front end. I would leave the swing arm for some contrast. Put the chrome inserts in. Unless you really really like chrome then go all out. The 250 tire kit is on my mind too. But I think you loose the functionality of the bike with that direction IMHO. I like th option to throw a bag on the back and take it off when your not using it.

As far as bars go you need to look at photo's and decide what direction to go in. My bars are extremely comfortable for me I don't reach for them and the riding position is great with my height of 5'9. I personally like the drag bar look. I think the SE beach bars or wild 1's that some other folks have look great on there bikes las well. The riding position looks good as well. You have to do your homework, don't rush it and look around.

One other thing I would lower the back end about an 1". However I would use the progressive 422 shocks. I did the extension's to the stock shocks and the ride quality suffered IMHO. So I'm going for the new shocks.
