Default Clutch cable install on 96 heritage softail

Hello,

I'm installing 18" ape hangers. I have all my cables and the throttle, brake line cable changing is no problem. One question I do have this far is what is the process in changing out the clutch cable? Can anyone give me a step by step on how to change the clutch cable and what materials I will need to change it?

Thanks!, I 've looked every where online with no luck so I'm hoping some of me fellow riders can help me out!

Thanks!

I went with this write up. It explained everything for me.. hope it works for you too.

one note , I learned for the clutch cable was to take it loose from the handle end and use the slack to release it from the transmission end. That way you don't have to take it all apart. I had another write up on it but cant find it.

Ah,.... here it is.

This place is has a wealth of information. I have spent hours on this site reading tech articles and such.. : )

When I changed the clutch cable on my 99 Heritage Softail, afteer removing the handle end of the clutch cable I leaned the bike over on its right side so I would not have to drain the oil out of the tranny. Worked real good.
