Fatboy Years 2000-2004 Questions

Have been looking at the FB's in the years 2000-2004's as they can be found within my budget of $10k-$12k. From what I can tell these years are basically the same with a 1450 motor and 5 speed. Other than some are Carbed or EFI, what can you tell me about those years that I should know and possibly avoid. For instance, should I avoid the year 2000 because thats the first year with the 1450? Or get one with EFI but maybe not a certain year because that was the first with EFI and it had problems or ...?

Thanks!&nbsp\\;

Personally I would rather have the carbeurated bike. Mine is an '03 and That is the only year I really know about. About the only thing I would avoid is paying too much, you can't go wrong with a Fartboy.

What did they change from the 02 to the 03 that made the 02 the bike to have?

I shouldnt be answering my own questions... lol What I read was that the 02's have a forged crank and the 03's and later have a casted crank. Again, not posotive about this, thought I read it somewhere...

Which years had vibration? Had a friend buy a Heritage at or around 2000 and he rode it to Daytona and said it was horrible.Made his hands,feet,butt go numb.I'm looking for used and want to take a several state tour but I sure don't want to be miserable.Advise or suggestions.
