XIED'S again

Lots of good reports but the supplier says they are not ideal for cruising which I find hard to understsnd as that what we do and the same for tick over.
&nbsp\\;
What does this mean will the bike run rough and us lots of fuel????????????

WHAT supplier? AFAIK, they are only sold direct from nightrider.com.

I don't understand the comment either. If you don't have internal engine mods, just install them and ride.

So does your supplier want you to buy something else? Something from him? Something more expensive? The IEDs and XiEDs are made for cruisers. They work great for cruisers that cruise. Somebody is giving you a load of ?

This is the wording.
I was concerned about the idle/cruising comment and what would be the effect if any.
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
I have a 08 fat boy with V&amp\\;\\\\\\;N slipons and may fit a free flowing filter at a later date will one of these suite and which type I see there are two types and two different fuel settings.
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
A narrow band O2 sensor (NBO2) essentially only understands a 14.7:1 air fuel ratio (AFR). Here is a little trick that can be used that will richen the AFR to approximately 14.2:1. While this is still not an ideal AFR for idle and cruising, it is an improvement.

The IED will set the mix at 14.2 to 1. That was the early version and works well (better than stock) but it is not optimal. XiED sets the mix at 13.8 to 1. Its the newer version. Ideal mix is:horsepower, 13.0 to 1. Normal best riding: 13.8 to 1. Use the XiED, you will be happy. Or you can spend $700 or more for a SERT and dyno tuning which will give you a mix of 13.8 to 1. Your money, your choice.

RE: XIED'S again

I bought a set to play with. Xied'sInstalled them on a 2007 Road glide with 16,000 miles on it. The bike is stock and has always run fine.Install took all of ten minutes.The bike runs well with them.Throttle responce is a bit stronger.Bike sounds a little deeper.Roll on from 60 in sixth gear is stronger.As for heat I tested these over two weeks on rides I make alot. I used a thermal gun and took temps in 6 places. I ran the bike with and with out the Xieds many times on the same runs and conditions.while at times they did lower the temps a small amount it was never over 20 degrees and temps did work thier way back up if the bike was left sitting. However they did appear to slow the heat rise a bit.They did cost me a small amount of fuel milage.Over all they do just what Nightrider claims for me. They do NOT reach some of the out landish claim I have seen posted about them.And heres some food for thought I decide to check temps on my 96 Fatboy with a stage 1 done to it come to find out they are not much different than the 07 ?With that in mind last weekend at Lacrosse WI there were a lot of motorcycles at the S&amp\\;S party http://www.*****************/forums/...lies/smile.gif.I did random checks of engine temps of all kind of bikes that were riding together.There was every mod and trick you can image there. Seems none of the temps veryed that much.I have found that many using a thermal gun are some what fooling them selfs.It is very improtant that the gun be pointed at the same spot same angle and same distance everytime to get a true reading to compare. And not on crome.While playing with mine just a hair differnce in some spots made a 40 to 50 degree difference. To get true readings I made two rods taped to gun to hold angle and distance and marked each spot.

+1 Go direct to NightRider for parts and information. I don't think he has "suppliers".
