07 Deluxe Bad Front Brake
Put a set of Lyndall Z pads on the front of the of the wife's Deluxe...Yuk! \\; The pads won't grab and are real spongy. \\; The pads have been installed correctly and I cleaned the rotor with a steel wool pad and a scotch-brite pad before install. \\; I know the \\;Z-pads say no break in for floating rotors, however I have no data on breaking them in with the stock (non-floating) front-single rotor. \\; Have emailed Lyndall, still waiting on a response. \\; Has anybody else had the same problem? \\; Input please. \\;

RE: 07 Deluxe Bad Front Brake
You need to make sure you bleed the brakes. I have installed the LRB brakes and love them. I still have a squeaking issue but that is only when they are cold so not sure what is going on with that.
Keep bleeding the brakes until you get a solid brake lever feel. So far I am very pleased with the stopping performance of the brakes. Very predictable and responsive. You can call them for customer service and they seem very responsive. I called twice and spoke with Paul the owner of the company. They stand by their product so do not give up. |

Bled the brakes, cleaned the rotor (short of sanding it), changed the pads (new ones again), same result. \\; Pads won't bite and excessive pressure required to get minimal braking.  \\;

I had that issue and it was from overfilling the reservoir. I used paper towel to remove some and it works great now.

You need to keep in mind also that they are based on racing brakes so work better when you get a little bit of heat into the compound. I will sometimes ride my brake a little bit to warm them up a little bit. If you do a lot of hard riding twisties you will love the performance once you get it straightened out.
