Mysterious!! Clutch Cable Gone Bad
Ok, stealer insisted I have my 1k svc. done by them to keep the warranty.
So like a a$$ I did,
Now my clutch cable sticks, went back to the dealer and they checked it out and told me” I need a new cable.”
What gives? Cable was fine yesterday, 4 dam miles ago when I droped it off?
They don’t know!!!
They also will never see my bike again; all work will be done by me from now on. (not because of this )
But they warned me to save all svc. receipts or else.
How do they know I won’t copy my buddy’s receipts?
It is 30 out and a return trip to the stealer to repair a cable sux.
A thanks, for letting me vent no one understands.

Every dealer says you have to have the 1K service performed at a dealer. After that anyone can do any service, just make sure that you keep all reciepts. Even everytime you buy any fluid and filter. My understanding is that you never have to take to dealer "by law". The dealer and motor company can just make it hard to deal with warranty if you take it elsewhere. But if you just have them do the 1K and keep reciepts, they wont hassle you after that on warranty.

My dealer wont be seeing mine agian, went in for tire warranty and the tech put the belt gaurd on wrong and trashed my belt pulley, had to take it back the next week to get that fixed(on their dime) and when I got my bike back they didnt even clean the wheels where they left grease all over them, pi$$ poor service IMO.

You can do your own service and keep your warranty intact. Keep receipts and keep a log book off all tasks performed.
As far as the cable going bad, sometimes products are defective. What's your problem? It will be replaced under warranty. Can you possibly explain how even the most inept mechanic can screw up a cable?
I love when people "do their own service", they think it is an oil change. Guys wonder why their bike isn't tracking right when most of their spokes are loose because they never checked them or they never adjusted their neck bearings.
Calm down! If it makes you feel better, do your own service.
