Without any kind of mechanical alterations, what is the widest rear tire that I can replace my OEM Dunlop with please? If it is not possible with the same rim, then what is the widest rim/tire combo without mechanical alteration? Thanks.
With your stock 3" wheel, a 150 is the widest tire that will fit. A 160 is probably the widest tire you will be able to fit without any mods other than having to go to a 3.5" wheel. I use a 150 V rated Avon on mine as it is a smidge wider than an H rated Avon. About 4 mm wider. BTW, with that slightly wider Avon, there is ery little room between the tire and the fender.

I have the very same question but my bike is a 1997 model FLSTC. Though the original post does not specify I'm assuming his bike is a 2000+ model. Will the 150mm tire also work on the 1997 model without modifications??
