Default This is what I was working on

Started tearing the bike apart for the "winter cleaning & projects". Took a couple pics. Mounted the side license. Next I started tearing off the headlight to mount the new one. Also did some detailed cleaning. But plenty to do.

I modified the old plate/tailight bracket. Don't care for the look of all that tire showing. I may lower the bike a bit but I did that to my old bike and didn't like the ride. Maybe someday a different fender or progressive shock not sure. Next year I 'd like to get either new rim for the front or a kit from AME and rake the front.

good job.

I think since maintenance cost through the dealer is so
expensive and so many of you seem to take so much
enjoyment in doing most, if not all, the upkeep yourself
then I think I'm going to buy the service manual, the
owners manual, and whatever necessary tools I may
need and do most of the work myself.

wish me luck lol

Best idea. Just take your time when you do things. ask questions on here before you start a project for any "insider tips". Lots of talent on this board.

Well 7500 miles and two rain storms this summer. Good time to get the nooks and crannies cleaned up. Plus I only polish the chrome once a year. Then all summer just a touch up here and there.

They are made by DNA. got 'em through American Classic on Ebay. I wouldn't get them again.
