yes, i used a 150/80r-17 metzler. big improvement. They now offer a 130/70-17 also. Dunlop also has a new one caller roadsmart 120/70-17. I have right at 16000 miles on my metzler 150/80r-17 front tire.

Thanks, I was just wondering if there was any other brands besides Metzler and Dunlop that would fit.

Michelen and Avons. I have no experience with either one, but my friend has used both. He says he prefers the avons over the metzelers just a little. He likes a tire with lots of grip and a narrow contact surface. I'm also fixin to have to get a new rear tire for my ride. I'll probably stick with Dunlops.

I just had metzlers installed on front and rear. I will NEVER run Dunlops again. The Metzlers are amazing. I heard the positive remarks about Metzlers but didn't really think it would make that much of a difference. I was wrong, they made a huge difference.

update,
I just had the front 150/80-17 Metzler replaced with 16000 miles and it had another 1000 left. I run 40lb in it. I could not get that size from the dealer and the tire was free because I had the most chapter ride miles. I went with the 120/70-17 Metzler. looks like a donut spare compared to the 150 tire. But to my surprise it is even better than the Metzler 150. The lower profile has just an inch or so for side wall. the specs are for the Fatboy rim. I don't know how many miles I will get but I just took 300 mile ride and the were great. the cornering was if I had power steering. No effort to turn. 70 mph curves were no problem. now I know how those rice burners go through the turns. you get used to the size after while. It also seems to have a smoother ride but that could be the new tread. I will take some pictures tomorrow. I just installed heated gear controls as I did not want to wear the thermostat.
