Why is it that custom aftermarket rims for motorcycles are 2,3, even 4 times more expensive than car or truck rims. I know the market for cars and trucks is HUGE, but it takes no more labor or time to make them for bikes? WTF. Organize a group buy before spring, anyone interested?

 

ask the car dealerships why their junk depreciates the second its off the lot?
yes i agree w/ you 100% all overpriced which eventually will rust/pit
i just say no,live and you learn w/ bling bling wheels

yes,possible powdercoat,no bling fer me went down that ol road and lost

a good set of wheels will make a bike stand out like no other. it's a price we all have to pay if we want the look

 

No different that tires. A bike tire uses a lot less material than a car tire, but costs as much or more than a good car tire.

If I was to guess, I'd say supply & demand. How many car rims to they make compared to motorcycle rims?

But still I agree 100%!!!! My front wheel has been made for quite a few years now and it still cost about $500.00. REDICULOUSELY OVER PRICED!! But yet we still buy them.

Maybe if we stop buying them the prices will go down.

 

Same reason we pay about the same price for a rear tire as a car that only last 10,000 miles while a car tire lasts 40,000 miles, so the rim is actually cheaper if you think about it that way

BTW, this topic has been covered before. The concensus seems to be that bike wheels are expensive due to supply&demand (less bikes than cars, so manufacturers have less potential buyers to recoup their expenses) and the fact that bike wheels have to finished on both sides.
