Question Vance & Hines question. 09 Softail ???

I'm looking at the Big Shots Staggered for my 09 Fat Boy. I've been planning to get the pipes that are listed for 86-06 since they have the O2 sensor fittings. I assumed that was the way to go, now I see Vance has updated the website and has a different part number for the 07-09 Softails. Is there a difference that justifies this? I thought they were the same bike as far as an exhaust would matter. I can get the 06 pipes on Ebay easily, the new stuff will be harder to find a low price. Any ideas? Will the 06 pipes fit a 09???

Good place to buy? Ebay was looking good for the 06 pipes

Ok, well I did find the new P/N avail on Ebay. The prices are decent. I'm getting a Christmas bonus soon from work, so I'm dying to get new pipes

So, I found the pipes, but what is the big difference? Is the mounting different at the frame or something?

Think you're right. My mind is all jacked up tonight. Good thing I didn't jump in and order the 86-06 pipes. Getting a chance to ride today must have me all out of whack

In order to use the 06 and older part number on a 07 and newer do you need to do something with the o2 sensors?

You'll really like those pipes. They sound great and make good power for a 2 into 2 because of the power chamber.

The 07-09 pipes have the O2 sensor fittings. The older ones don't.As far as fitment, I'm not sure, but I would think they should bolt up.What kinda fuel management do you want? The PCV eliminates the O2's I believe.I got the newer pipes on mine.Part #17921.Still running the dealer download with xied's and stage 1 air cleaner.I'm thinking about the PCV for mine this winter.Funds are tapped out now.

I talked to the guys at drvtwin.com when shopping for my black shortshots. They had the best price I could find (shipped).

Eastern Performance matched it, and since they are local for me I went with EP (No waiting for shipping or return issues if damaged during).
