im getting ready to purchase a "Heavy Breather". is there a differnce in performance between a Screamin' EagleŽ Street Legal "Heavy Breather" Performance Air Cleaner Kit #29299-08 or a arlen ness 90° Air Filter, EVO/Twin Cam 18-488 ? i like the style of a 90 degree breather

Not in performance, both are "100%" free flow breathing setups, perhaps the durability of the filter could come into discussion...

There are a lot better looking units on the market, unless you feel that a huge, dirty, totally exposed oiled cotton gauze filter element is sexy.
Maybe on a bulldozer, but not a motorcycle.

That "soon to be" dirty, 55 gallon drum sized oiled gauze infested with bugs and dirt add soooo much to the look.....I just don't find beauty, class or style in 120 sq inches of oiled gauze.
I'm glad that you are satisfied. You have a beautiful bike and there are so many more units out there that would put you over the top, and would compliment your ride better than a Massey Ferguson air filter.
It's just not what I want hanging off the side of my bike.

i think the heavy breather looks good on some machines such as rockers and some other softails but whne you are takling about touring or even some softails they just look stupid
