Question!!
Good morning,
I have recently sold my 1200C, and have been hanging around the dyna forum a little, thinking that I might want to look into an FXDC. However, I have always liked the night train, and think I might want to go that direction. My question/s is this, there was an inner primary issue with the 06 dynas, does this affect the softails as well? Also, is there any advise about the night train that might be helpful in the purchase of a used bike?
thanks,
joe

Sorry, I disagree with Lundee's statement that Dyna's ride better than Softails. I got rid of my Low Rider after six months and bought a Heritage. I go on a lot of long rides with high mileage. Usually I spend three to four weeks on the road at a time. You can't beat the ride and engine smoothness of a Softail. Just my opinion. Best advise, rent one of each for a day, rack up 200-250 miles on each, with some slow speed exercises for good measure, and decide for yourself which one suits your style of riding.

Sorry Lundee, I will have to disagree too. My Heritage rides like a dream compared to my cousins Dyna. My cousins Dyna is a 5 speed, same as my Softtail.....He has had absolutely no problems with his.
I would go with the Night Train myself. Just like the look better. It is your money though, get what you like...

My only bases was my sportster,my moms dyna, and my train,Both external mount shocks were progressives, my train is stock shocks with lowering bolts and it rides like butt. Never ridden a heritage, looks comfy though. I guess if you don't lower a train it'll be alright. Then again maybe I'll change my mind when my works performance shocks get here.

My Fat Boy rides way better than my mom's Dyna Low Rider. Both stock set up for suspension. My wife and I are not small and the Dyna will bottom out REALLY easy with us on it. I put a few scratches on the bottom and was driving it really slow and trying to avoid all bumps possible. My softail has not been an issue
I've been told the lowering bolts will make the ride worse on a softail. I was given a set for free when I got my used saddlebags and have not installed them, nor do I plan to install them. Plus you loose cornering ability. It looks better to be lowered a bit, but not worth the ride or cornering for me to do it.

I don't want anyone to get offended so don't take this the wrong way. You guys have FL front ends and couches for seats. He's asking about a Super glide custom and a Nighttrain. Not a Street bob and a Heritage. If that was the case I'd be on your side. Dunno maybe I've just gottin use ta my hard ridden lowered train but,my sporty and my moms dyna ride nicer, but shake more. No doubt the TC "B" motors are where it's @.
