Default Vance & Hines Big Raidus Questions

Ok, I have a 2008 Fat Boy. I know about the o2 sensors and such. I realize they can do a little compensation, but not enough. So, I do realize that with mods, a fuel mod (PCIII, fuelpak, etc..) is required. Now, here is where I'm at. I'm planning on doing a Arlen Ness Big Sucker, V&H Big Radius, and a V&H Fuelpak. I'm planning on buying the exhaust first. Figured since it's the most expensive, I'll get that out of the way. So, my question is this (I've used the search, I'm kinda just looking for a lil reasurance) can I run the V&H Big Radius (with the baffles that comes with it) for a bit? Just looking to get a lil sound to hold me over for the most part. I know I won't get the performance/cooler running engine until the intake and fuelpak. Would I be safe just running the pipes for a lil bit until I get the intake and fuelpak?

Thanks!

You'll be fine. Just do the fuel pak and A/C at the same time. I put my BR on and ran for a month with no problems. If your bike is lowered an inch be careful making right hand turns, they will scrape.

that's kind of the answer I was expecting. I figured as long as I didn't touch the intake I'd be ok. I was planning on adding the intake and fuelpak at the same time. Just wanted to make sure I was safe with running the exhaust a little bit first. My fat boy is stock ride height, was gonna leave it that way too. I scape the floorboards every now and then as it is :-P

Do you plan on making any other engine mods in the future? If so, I'd stay away from the FuelPak and go with another tuner...PCIII, SEST, or TTS Mastertune. Just my opinion.

No other plans in the future, hence the reason why I was choosing the fuelpak. If I was gonna do high compression pistons, cams, etc... then I would go wot the PCIII or something of that naturre. Since I'm just doing intake/exhaust I figured something simple like the fuelpak would work for my needs.

Completely understandable. If it works for your needs, then it's absolutely the way to go. I just didn't want to see you have to change to another tuner down the road (if you changed cams, pistons, etc), and spend more $$$.

I agree, it's definitely nice to get the right product the first time around instead of spending more money down the road Thank god for internet forums for research
