Default running/brakelight kit for softails

I put one on my Sporty. Pretty straight foward, everything was right there under the seat.
So where is all that hidden on the softail?

Just beware, on mine and other Dyna's, that mod is associated with engine shut down while riding. This primarily happens with bikes equipped with the Security System.

I have the Tailbones converter, it lets your signals also work as running and auxiliary brake lights. I hooked it in 2-1/2 years ago. No problems yet. I don't recall reading where someone has had a problem doing this with any converter.
I have the factory security system.

My 05 was plug and play. By far the easiest mod I have done. HD unit. Pull the seat, plug was right behind the battery. Plug it in and changed the lenses. Done. No problems at all. MikeM

If any of you have a kit laying around or know someone that does, I'd be interested (hate giving dealers money)

Just keep an eye out when you ride. On a continuous ride, at operating temps, it may shut down. I believe it may be related to heat issues and the light mod, sending a bad signals back to the ECM and Security System, creating a signal that the ECM and Security System reads. This signal is telling the ECM or Security System that is is to be activated, therefore shutting all power off to the engine. It will not throw a code and your headlights will stay on. This has ALWAYS happened to me while on a sustained ride in summer time. It never did it prior to adding the light mod and hasn't done it since I removed the light mod. I tracked down and listed all mods I did to the bike, then systematically removed each mod and tested. When I removed the light mod, the problem hasn't occurred. Even SOAR, (HD reps) state it is a possibility this can occur. HD should claim this on the imported products they sell. It's no fun to have your bike shut down on you at highway speeds, let alone at highway speeds in traffic!
