You should wait until you get your manual or follow the instructions on Expert Village, before you change your primary fluid. Then you can check and adjust your primary chain, while you are changing the primary fluid. The primary inspection chain and clutch covers, take a 27 Torx bit.

Yes I am absolutly waiting for the manual to do the primary and the transmission I just didn't think that changing the engine oil would be such a pain. I was not able to find any 5/8th drain plug at all all I could find are those plugs in the pics on my og post.
Right habd side of bike go to the bas of the frame at the rear directly bellow the oil tank on frame near swing arm is a hose which comes from oil tank this hose has a bung in it.
first undo the clamp securing the bung place a tray to catch oil befor using pliers to take bung out.
thats it
next if you wish yo can change the filter whcih is located on the front of the bike frame
Here you can download the manula for a 2997 softail http://allamericanexportsinc.com/downloads.html
OK I went outside and snapped a pic for you. You can see the shocks and the tire, this was taken from the exhaust side of the bike......the 2 9/16 bolts you see are the exhaust mounting bracket. This is a '07 FXST but it ought to be similar. Notice the drain is not in the motor, because there is no oil in the motor.........it's a dry sump system........the oil is kept in the oil tank and pumped through the motor, returning back to the oil tank.
Please pardon the dead leaves on my garage floor.......been windy here the last few days!!!

I think it is a bit different because looking at the set up on the '02 there is no way for the oil to drain back there since there is no way for it to even get back there, but I will certainly go and check again. Thank you very much for taking the time to snap that pic.
Ok I stand corrected, after further inspection there is a hose in the back of the tank totally hidden back there that leads right to where you showed a picture of. Man I can not thank you enough.
