I bought this set for my 06 FXST from Zanotti's & paid around $500. It had the support brackets already built in. All I had to do to mount then was remove 4 strut bolts and then bolt the bags to the fender

could you tell me exactly what bag that is(manufacturer/style)? I checked Zanotti's and seems like I need a part number to look anything up.

CC Saddlebags. With Easy Brackets. 2 years and have held up well. Lots of choices too. Matching tool bags, etc.

I have a 2000 fatboy and absolutely love it, but my prior bike was an Ultra soft and cushy with all the frills for traveling. I always wanted a fatboy and had the oppertuntity to get it. After much traveling and always needing what I couldn't carry I started looking for bags much like you. Anyway at the 05 Daytona rally I ran across Boss Bags and did invest in them. I Love Them.

Their website: http://www.bossbags.com/

Yes the are pricey but I found it to be worth it. Last fall I solo'd to Sturgis for the rally tent camped to say the least and took everything i thought i might need, there was no way I could have done it with out the bags. Once at the camp site I could pop the bags off in less than 10 seconds. I prefer a sport bike but enjoy the options of back rest, bags, and shield.

I purchased the 42L3's and a couple of options for them.

My vote bossbags.............. Worth the $'s

Oldcorps, I bought the detachable bags that you'r talk'n about and they were terrible, looked way out of place on my standard, very little storage, waste of money....I resold them on Ebay

Thanks for all the informative input gent's. I looked over every set of bags mentioned in this thread and it was a tough decision. I ended up ordering a set of the "leatherneck Jim's" Sequoia's and a pair of EZ brackets. Talked to him & his wife on the phone at length, and they seem very dedicated to their customers. I prefer to do business with the "mom & pop" stores anyway, if I can.
I should have them mounted up in time for the Leesburg Bikefest on the 28th, so I'll have a place for the raingear etc.

Thanks again fella's, this is a great forum!!!
