I believe you can run a 180 tire, I know there's been many discussions about that.
I'm running the stock size for now(150) I may bump up when it's time for tires.

Cost wise I don't have exact numbers in front of me but
Struts and fender from them were about $1100. (stuts about 800 fender 300) lights 229.00 ,I got the seat from a forum member for $210 (about $350 from Heartland) Heartland makes two kinds of back clip in seat about $700 bucks. I'll wait for that.
Not sure about pre 99 conversions but Heartland site might have info or just e-mail them they're very helpful.

No shots of the bike off the jack yet as I'm working in a tiny space (about 4ft around bike) in the cellar of the house my apt is in so really can't get a shot till I pull it out after winter is over. I'll be sure to post before and after shots then.

Might be worth mentioning that later 200mm rear you DO NOT have to cut the horns off.......

Keeping stock light housings in front but changed bulbs out to LED's. Had a problem with certain bulbs last fall doing that (posted that in another thread) Works fine now.

wow- nice write up.

I sure considered the heartland kit for my 05'. I decided to go with the springer forks instead. I've always liked my bobtail. The fact that I'd be ditching my fender rack, my smoked tailight and my detachable sissybar also helped me make my decision.

Plus, when I bought my NT I couldn't decide between a springer and a NT. So now I've got the best of both worlds.

lookin forward to seein how this works out when it's done.

Thanks for heads up. about Hose. Checked my instructions again they said 1/2 inch NOT 1/4. I made note of this in original post.
I should be just fine as I left at least another 1/4 + of room for error and bike is lowered inch and 1/2 on shocks so I can adjust if needed.

Your struts must have been an older model. Not sure how they piece together kits as My struts came plastic wrapped to cardboard. Mine must be newer and maybe it was luck of draw that you got un-channeled.

Well here's the finale of my heartland winter project. I love the look and the seat seems pretty good for the little time I spent on it today. Was only in the 40's here in NY, but just NEEDED to get it out and really look it over.
Here's before and after pics. Also I took one seated so you'd see the ride height as I have it lowered 1-1/2 inches in back.
