Default New to me bike, anyway to find if service done?

Hey all,
I recently purchased a 07 Train from a dealer (used car dealer). The bike has 1400 miles on it and is great shape. I have the orig. owners name and attempted to call him with no call back. I know that the bike was purchased at a local Harley dealership in Aug. 07, but can find no record by running the VIN with some of the local dealers that it ever had its 1k first service. Now I know that I can change the fluids myself, but I wanted to have the other 1k stuff done too, but I dont know if its been done or not and I dont want to shell out $300 if its been done.
Is there anywhere to check a VIN, through Harley, to see if this service has been done, aside from calling each individual dealership???
What a pain huh? Wish the guy would just call me back...

Do it yourself with the assistance of a manual and you won't have to shell out $300. You will also know it has been done right.

You should have done this BEFORE you bought the bike.....service it and go forward..once the 'papers are signed' its too late to look backwards...:>)

If you go on the MoCos website and go to the owners page I think, you can enter your vin and it will tell you the next service needed, so if it says a 5k service then the 1k was done. I'll try to get the lik for you

Spend $58 and buy the 2007 Softail service manual. There isn't much to the 1,000 mile service.
