Smile How to remove moon hubcap on an '07 Heritage

Hello all,

I really want to remove the horrible looking moon hubcap of the front wheel of my Heritage.

Questions are:
1. What is behind the moon cap? Will I need another chrome fitting to replace the cap?
2. Has anyone performed this modification? If so, any tips on the removal process?

Thanks for the help.

1. pull the wheel
2. remove the hubcap from the spacer via the C clip
3. reassemble wheel with the same spacer the hubcap was attached to.

Done.

Or buy a chrome spacer to replace the one the hubcap was attached to... I don't even know if you can do this but I suppose it's an option.

It's easy to remove just like the first poster mentioned. The funny thing is I personally love the way the hubcap looks. It really set's the spokes off especially with white walls. It's funny how opinions vary so much when it comes to these bikes.

It is weird how people's ideas differ. I ride a Softail and a Sportster next to my friends Heritage and admired that nice looking moon hubcap. Sounds like it will be easy enough to remove though.

I removed mine not long after I got mine and best that I remember is I pulled the tire off the bike and removed the snap ring and it was off. The wheel spacers can be reused, but I opted for the chrome ones. Piece of cake.

I left mine on my 99 but decided to remove it from the 07 after GeorgiaGirl called it a salad bowl. Every time I looked at it after that I got hungry.
