FINALLY got to take the Softail on a real ride
Roads were wet, but I didn't care. Put about 60 miles on her today.
Rode pretty nice. Plenty of power, felt a lot lighter than I figured it would. Handles pretty well too. Unfortunatley, the bars don't really agree with my right wrist. It was crushed once in a car accident, and the angle of the stock bars was borderline painfull. If the grips were just angled a lit more forward, they'd be fine I think. Other than that, was a great cold wet ride :D |
Glad to hear you made it out. It was in the 60s here today but no time due to work.
A few more weeks for me yet. MikeM |
Dam i still have two months to go.ride dude ride. I hate winter.
We've been blessed with super weather recently...been able to rack up some serious miles over the apst few days. My wife and I just got back from riding tonight...get in in while you can!!
Start lookin for new bars before spring gets here. That'll give you something to do...
Glad you finally got to ride her Schu. I saw the pics when you first got it. Nice looking bike. Beautiful day here in St. Louis, 60's. Only got in a couple hours ride after work though. I am guessing your thinking about changing the bars! Hope you can get some that are more comfortable. Ride safe.
You need some stock NT bars or something without that funky bend in it. I hate the bars that angle your hands funny as most of the stock Harley bars do. It's supposed to be comfy but isn't for me...
Yeh, I'm thinking the NT bars would be fine. Probably would wanna change the risers out while I was at (since the curved ones would make a flat bar sit pretty low). The trains have 6" risers, right?
Yes they are 6" risers, I find the stock bars pretty comfy. Its still not that nice here, a couple were out riding today, too much sand on the roads here
You guys that are riding are seriously bumming me out. I figure another 2 months here. Not a happy camper!
