Gasket for Clutch inspect'n cover: oil it first??
Hi, '07 STC
I took out the original gasket which is a plastic type ring, sits in a groove. Dealer said this is now replaced by a circular disk, part # 60328-98B (looks like a sanding disc, completely covers area under the derby cover)... first question: this sound right to you?? (this new disc vs. the original ring type which sits in groove?.
If the disc type is correct to use,, do I put oil on it where it sits against case and derby cover, or just install it dry??. Manual of course doesn't ref this new type gasket.
I called 2 different dealers, 2 different stories...wish they could get somethin simple like this straight with the dealers, partic where I am told by one that the disc supercedes the ring type origninal gasket.
Thanks for help, Steve

Gasket for Clutch Inspect'n plate
Thanks for the help. Still a bit confused though as some response indicates difference vs. I have a stock '07 STC, it has a plain inspection cover that has to be removed to put new oil in. The original gasket is a neoprene O ring, red. What I am questioning is the "replacement" gasket, a disc that looks like sanpaper disc, it fits, same hole pattern,... so I am wondering if anybody has run into this as a "replacement" to the red O ring ?? If so, I will use it as that dealer indicates to do. Other dealer has said NO, not the disc, get a red O ring type like the original. tnx again, Steve
