One of the guys we ride with installed 2 nut and bolt combos using acorn nuts on the bottom outside edge of his floor board to scrape first and save the floor board.
Ive had my bike 5 yrs now 30000 mi and scrape almost at least once every time I ride. The right side floor board outter edge is mostly gone and I may replace the pan this summer but overall they go a lot longer than you would think.
IMO get used to it its part of owning a HD with floor boards!
In the "Ride Like a Pro" series Paladino says to learn where they scrape and get used to it. He scrapes them on all sharp low speed turns. Personally I get a little creeped out when I scrape on a faster turn; do that too far and you'll lever your tires off the street. I kind of like that idea of putting an acorn nut under there as a feeler.
I scrape mine just about every time I ride, even coming out of my driveway. I can see no damage to my floorboards and I have had my bike almost four years. Make sure they are not too tight to fold up and have fun scrubbing off those chicken strips.
Adjust your back shocks to be a stiffer. They come out rated for 185 lb. driver and 150 pass.
Get the wrench from the Harley dealer and look at your manual. Adjust evenly.
Thats my biggest beef also, those DAMN floorboards scraping. No way i can lean into the corners the way id'e like to. Just part of owning a FATBOY i guess!
I ride with two guys on night trains, one on a classic and a fatbob and they all get a kick out of riding behind me on my deluxe through the curves throwing up sparks. I did the bolt mod on mine and its easier to replace a bolt every now and then and not a floorboard.

I have an '06 Deluxe and I worried about scraping my boards since my Motorcycle Safety Instructor told me, "First time you scrape your boards it'll scare the sh*t out of you, after that it's nothing." And the first time I scraped 'em, it did. After that no problem.
Then one of my buddies told me, "Careful you don't catch those in a pothole while your draggin' 'em." Sh*t, after that I adjusted my riding style not to drag 'em.
