Don't forget about those damm UGLY STUDS that a heritage has. Also Deluxe stock comes with whitewalls tires/different bars/risers/pipes/kickstand/solid headlight backplate.
All about style. There are those who buy Deluxes only to turn them into Heritages and those who get Heritages and turn them into Deluxes. If your going to be prone to that than get what you want in the beginning. If your going to take the bike in a different direction, think of what that is and which bike will suit that goal.

Welll said chromedome....by the way nice bike.....never have seen a upside down fishtail
The ST Deluxe is considered a girl's bike, like a Sportster. Why? I don't know. Maybe the MoCo has hyped it that way. I can't tell a big lot of difference other than the wing logo is kind of gurly looking. I would ride one, regardless. They are nice bikes. I had a Heritage and thought it was great and the Deluxe looks great, too. The guys that ride the Deluxe apparently can handle the girly comments, just like the guys that ride Sportsters can.
Don't forget about those damm UGLY STUDS(IMO of course) that a heritage has. Also Deluxe stock comes with whitewalls tires/different bars/risers/pipes/kickstand/solid headlight backplate.
I have to agree, I hate those ugly studs. If the Deluxe is a girls bike, then a Heritage is an old mans bike. I'm sure you can get a trike package for it.
For my money, the Deluxe wins as saddlebags are not my thing. I prefer the whitewalls, and really like the classic look. I do not use a windshield so I could care less about that. Girls bike? Who cares.
The girls bike thing is sooo ridiculous. I've seen chicks ride road kings and Ultra's to SG's are those chick bikes? Insecure people make those posts. Basically as stated the Heritage and Deluxe are very similar, a variation on a theme, deluxe is lower and more retro without those goofy studs, IMHO.
