Default Cross Bones 2008 Issues ?

I would like to ask if any Crossbones 2008 owners had encountered any known issue with this year of manufacture especially on the front end.
This is because I was told that from 09 onwards there had to be some modification to this same front end.
Appreciate any comment.

That's the only recall / fix i know of on the front end.
They also had to "rethread" the tank to keep them from leaking.

I've put 26k miles on my 08 in the ~15 months i've had it. (had 3600 when i bought it)
2k miles ago had to replace the neck bearings and the rear wheel bearings.

Im at 27k and haven't replaced anything but the spark plugs and fuel filter. Did they go prematurely or am I just fortunate? I checked them over about 2 weeks ago.

Consider yourself lucky it really sucked having gas blow all over you and the bike thinking you were going to burst into flames. I know they did the same fix on my buddys 2010 street bob not sure what all bikes it effected.

Best i can tell prematurely. They seemed "surprised" the neck bearing had a grove in it. The rear wheel bearings not so much it seems they are hit n miss with quality.

Have about 35,000 on my 2008, had the recall for the front brake bolt done. Other than that the only issue I had was a wire fraying on the harness that goes from the bars to the main harness. Fixed it, and no issues since.

I have a 2008 and have had zero problems with it, except of course for the ones I've caused myself.
