160 Metzler will fit without any mods. Anything bigger like a 180 will take some modding. Your fender is what the issue is as it isnt wide enough to hold anything much bigger than a 160 without rubbage issues.
I run a 160/60/18 on my 05'. Its nice. My optimal sizing back there would actually be a 180 stuffed into the stock fender as I'm not willing to do a wider fender as I much prefer the narrow fender due to its staying true to the original design cues of the bike. I'm skeptical that a 180 will fit and not rub on that stock fender if the bike is lowered 2".
Should I ever feel the need to go fat back there it would be a heartland type kit or twisted choppers bobber fender on a 180. IMO 200MM on these bikes looks to be a bit too fat for my oldschool taste!
I like the 18 as you can pull off a lower look without actually being as low. 160 Metzler is about the same width as a 150. If they make a 170 that would fit without but I havent ever seen one. I have about 1/4" clearence on each side when lowering the bike so the wheel tucks up into the fender. Not much room for error there!
