Default 2005 Fatboy SE11 vs Deluxe

I had a friend that gave me a set of SE11 mufflers and headpipes, heat shield, etc off his 2005 Softail Fatboy. I have a 2005 Softail Deluxe and I thought that I could intall them on the Deluxe and save a ton of money avoiding the purchase of a system for the Deluxe.

It don't work!!! I am so disapointed. I think I could make it work but I would have to remove the hard bags that I have installed plus the passenger footpegs on the right side would be higher up than the one on the right side. The mufflers ride higher on the Fatboy I guess. All the attachments are off just enough to make it almost impossible to do the job without major bracket modifications.

I think I will sell the 2005 Fatboy SE11 system and buy a V&H system. Do you folks have any idea of the value of the full SE11 system? It has about 5K on the pipes and mufflers.

I would say sale the SEII slipons alone maybe 200.00 and the head pipes 100.00 if somebody really needs them. Because people are looking for just the slipons . Head pipes they already have .

Thanks for the info, I think you are right on the price. I am not sure what they would cost new since I don't see them in the Harley inventory anymore for some reason. Maybe the EPA stuff has pulled them from the market. They say right on the muffler "for off road use only". I was told by the owner that the mufflers alone cost well over $300.

I think I will put them on Craigs List for say, $275 for the whole system including brackets, heats shields, head pipes and mufflers.

"millzog" I just put the pipes on cragslist, Portland, OR for $275 for the complete system. Thanks for the advice!
