Default Heritage Exhaust Question

Im putting stock pipes on my 06 Heritage...

I have the screamin eagle high flow air filter on my bike. I have a power commander III.

After I put the stock pipes back on:

a) is it ok to run it with the high flow filter, or do I have to put restricted airbox stuff on?
b) Should I leave the PCIII running or should I plug the stock computer back in?

Thanks all!

First of all, WHY? Next, yes you can leave it all on, you we just need to remap the PCIII.

Hahaha! I know I know- the porkers are making my head pound on loud rides. I'm ok for a couple hours but then I want some quiet. Even with plugs in my ears it's not enuf.
I came off of a buell Ulysses and I learned to love the quiet exhausts.

Learned to enjoy the sounds of the mechanicals more than the sound of the waste product produced by the mechanicals

There is a power commander map for a high flow air filter and stock exhaust. I have tried 3 different exhausts on my 2006 Heritage trying to get it to run right without being obnoxiously loud. I tried the V&H Double Barrels, then back to stock, then Rush slip-ons, and I have just put on a set of V&H Big Shots with quiet baffles. This is the best running, best sounding exhaust I have tried and it is not much louder than the stock pipes with a whole lot more power.

I was gonna say... the Big shot longs with quiet baffles are actually pretty good as the pipe is back behind your ear. But they allow the bike to still sound like a harley.

I luv'd my big shot longs.

That would be a great set up...V&H with quiet baffles cause you can still take advantage of the little bit of extra performance you will get with the V&H.

Hey man, if you want to run quieter pipes, than do it. The big shots with quiet baffles will be pretty loud, but it's a very low rumble so it seems like it's not that loud. But if you were happier running on a quiet bike, I don't think you'll be happy with the BS with quiet baffles. I, like you, like a quiet ride, so that's why I got rid of my V&H big radii and replaced it with a quiet exhaust. I actually like being able to hear all of the noise of the valve train and other mechanicals. Also regarding power, I don't know how the new stock pipes are but you can get slipon that make the bike quieter with out being overly stuffy. I've noticed a great increase in low end torque and the bike feels like it has a much flatter torque curve in all rpm's rather than in just the top end.

Ya, pay heed. I didn't say they were gonna be that much quieter... with the baffles they are better cuz the quiet baffles take that tinny ping out which is the number one cause of headaches.

but the Big shot longs will go way back almost to the back of the tire. You can look in my photo's at the last two pics to see a set on my Heritage.

This may or may not help you as I really don't know how sensitive you are to the noise.... so I just wanted to clarify.
