I ran 41 without the shield.
I run 41-43 with the shield

close to 8k miles now (I haven't gotten to ride much lately)

One time I got 48, but it never happened again.

I ride hilly freeways (65-80) and backroads.

I get about 42. Rode into the wind one day for 130 miles or so and got about 38. The shield really catches a lot if air and it takes more throttle to maintain the same speed. Really reduces the mileage.

Not sure what is going on but I seam to be getting only about 28 MPG. Bike does not seam to be running rich, plugs look good, not black smoke, no obvious fuel leaks. Anyone got any ideas why I would have such low milage on my EFI TC88.

Wow that is low...How many miles you have on it? For that I might be at the dealer asking why....

If its brand new... I got 70 something total out of my first tank, it slowly crept up from there.

Last weekend I went on long ride. Over 500 miles in 2 days. Checked milage 2 times. The first time I got 52 mpg the second time I got 46 mpg. The first time there were a lot of turns and downhill riding. The 2nd there was a lot of straight and fast riding I consider my self lucky if I get 42 mpg on average. I run V&H Longshots w/ the Stage 1 download. '05 is the year, 5600 miles.
