Heritage Chrome Front End?

I want to do chrome forks on my o7 flstc, I want to go with chrome front wheel spacers but HD parts book says you have to take off the small stock dome hub cap to use these? Does anyone know why? Are these spacers not the same size or shape as the stock ones? Would anyone like to post some pics of their heritage with a chromed out front end?

Thanks,
DCS

If it's the same Hub design as my 06 Deluxe then the HUB itself already has a Spacer built in. If you plan on keeping the hub then you wouldn't use the Spacer with the kit for that side. I did exactly that when I did my Chrome Front End. I only used the Brake side Spcacer from the kit.

I did the same as Mike NY I used only the chrome spacer on the left side, and kept the hubcap on the right side because the spacer is built into it.
Now I have a right side spacer with no use for.

hmmmm , on my 07 i chromed out the front , took off the hub . i couldnt see why a chrome spacer is different size if you leave hub on .. doesnt make sense to me.

I love my full chromed front end. Worth every penny!

The hubcap is the spacer on the right side. And the replacement chrome spacer is the same thickness as the Chrome hubcap on the right, and the chrome spacer on the left is the same as the stock dull spacer.
Harley Part # 41583-03 or #41583-07 depends on your year model on which one to use.

Hey, those BSlongs look familiar! ;)

You should of been around last year. I got my chrome frontend kit for 140.00 off of ebay. Softail Girl posted a link to a dealership selling a few sets.

Hi Brad. Had to put new heat shields on them, but they are looking good :)

I too purchased a kit when SG posted the link. Then after my accident, I found the kit again for $100! They are out there if you look around long enough.

lionsqrne 12-05-2009 05:05 PM

woah, why did you have to put new heatsheilds on them? Did something happen in shipping? cuz you never said if it was.

Dustmaker 12-05-2009 05:22 PM

no, no problem on you bro. I got hit by a truck in June and they got a little scuffing. So insurance replaced the heat shields for me.

whew, sorry to hear about that bud.... had me worried it was something I did.

Hope all is well with yourself and bike bud.
