I have the blue LED ones installed on my bike, and so far (nearly 1 year) no problems.
I read somewhere on this forum that the LED can go out, its a vibration problem, and that it is easily fixed by taking the housing apart and rewelding them.
Taking the housing apart is easier said than done, I tried taking apart a stock gauge and ended up destroying it. I dont think the assembly process is ireversible for certain parts.
Might I add out of frustration how bad I want these flush mount gas tank caps from HD, but the quality of workmanship is ****. Damn HD for not fixing them after all these years.

Not to mention, what a freaking bone headed move (being nice) to only offer blue leds. Because blue would look good with every paint scheme, right?
I hope you guys are right, I have ordered a set of the Black ones for my 2010 Denim Lo-Boy, will have the dealer install so I can make use of the two year warranty, sounds like I may need it. I do like the looks and yur right about the cost, but what the H3LL - it's only Money, right !

Ya just bought some black ones for my 2010 fatboy lo also, and dealer installed to boot. So hopefully they don't have any issues? I think these are the 2nd gen and should be good to go! Time and miles will tell......
