Just trying to find the starter relay in my 1997 Heritage Softail.....anyone know where it is?

 

did you ever get a response as to where the starter relay was? I too can't find it ON a 86 ..REALLY appreciate any help..This is the best kept Harley secret around..maybe..Thanks, Bill

 

Check out the link below. On the left side of the page that comes up, click ELECTRICAL - SWITCHES W/ CIRCUIT BREAKERS under frame. It shows the starter relay and diode and the assembly it is located on. It appears to be in the electrical box which I believe is under the seat area.

Don't know if your '86 is like my '94, but on mine, the relay is located under the seat, behind the battery, to the right of the ignition module, attached to the frame crossmember by a single screw. On mine, the relay and its connector is hidden under a rectangular black plastic cover.
