SaddleBag Shapers VS Got Saggy Bags
#22
Just placed my saddleBag shapers in some older bags (8yrs) It made the bags look alot better. I am not sure if I like the idea of the G1000 glue to afix the top insert to the roof of the saddle bag. I feel it will come a loose one of these days. I did place the saddlebag lid on a smooth surface in fact I used "C" clamps to secure while the glue is drying So far one bag is back on my bike, the other I am letting dry for another 24 hours.
Has anybody had any problems with the glue not holding after use?

I was also curious about this question, and glad I found this thread (SaddleBag Shapers VS Got Saggy Bags) for input to help me make a choice.
I went with saddleBag Shapers from ebay ($69.95 + $10.25 Shipping +$5.07 Texas Tax, Total $85.27).
The main support is a single length liner from tip-to-stern inside the bag. Also included are two lid shapers, and the adhesive to install them.
Also included is an informative instruction sheet. (Worth the read.)
The main liners went in easily (ok, some elbow grease required). And my bags are on a 2003 Heritage that never, never had any bag supports in them. Instant shaping/conformity occurred.
I am now gluing the lid shapers on.
I also removed the original plastic outer rim/lip stringers, and replaced them with aluminum flat bar stock. Instructions at you tube, "Saggy Bags" by "desertspirit1":
